This is my 3rd year taking part in the Great Cycle Challenge to fight kids’ cancer! Why? Because right now, over 1,400 children are diagnosed with cancer every year, and it’s the biggest killer of children from disease in Canada.
My wife & I sometimes see these young children when we are at Princess Margaret Cancer Centre & Toronto Western where she’s been receiving ongoing care for metastatic breast cancer.
As any parent or grandparent like us would say…..all kids should be living life, not fighting for it . So I’m raising funds through my challenge to ride as many days as I can manage to from spring until late fall to help these kids and support Sick Kids Foundation .
This helps them continue their work in developing treatments and finding a cure for childhood cancer.
Please support me by making a donation to give these kids the brighter futures they deserve.Your support will change little lives. Thank you so much! https://greatcyclechallenge.ca/Riders/DonRoss
My latest update
3 months of riding in the books now & feeling great. Should be ready by August to knock off my 750 KM goal when the challenge officially begins their count. Rode an avg of 24 km/day for 87 days out of the past 91……673 km in Apr…….698 km in May….725 km in June for total of 2096 km altogether. So grateful to be healthy and able to do this. My hope is that the money raised will help make it possible for some children dealing with cancer today, to be doing what I’m doing now when they are 65.
